Things To Do / Local Attractions

The Brecon Beacons offer some of the most beautiful and challenging walks in the whole of the South of Wales and England. The area also has many sites of heritage and important history, with Iron Age hill forts, standing stones thousands of years old and more recent sites from the beginning of the Industrial Age. The countryside here is beautiful and offers up walks that will test abilities from the novice up to experts, but also has places to visit for those looking for more historical interests. Mountain bikers also come from miles around to ride along the paths and bridleways of the beacons. There are so many varied trails that you can put your mountain bike through day after day of rides and never see the same view twice.

The area has other outdoor pursuits available for those wishing for something different. The river Usk is a ten minute walk from our door and the Wye river is a fifteen minute drive away. Both offer superb walks, fishing, canoeing & kayaking. There are also many local places to go Pony Trekking or activity centres to test your climbing skills. If you have an outdoor pursuit you love to do, it’s a fair bet that someone provides this facility in the Brecon Beacons.
